The Tour Schedule for 3 Days and 3 Nights
Day 1
After George’s tour or Jane’s tour, pickup in the afternoon by a private van to Orosi and a short “get familiar” tour. First night’s welcome dinner will be served on our patio with other North Americans and Costa Ricans. We will take a pre-dinner walk through “Tica’s Garden” to understand the possibilities for tropical gardening in Costa Rica. After the garden walk we will present an introduction to the Orosi Valley and discussions. Nightly accommodations at Rio Las Perlas or Tetey Lodge.
Day 2
7:30 A.M. Breakfast at Hotel with lawyer, Jorge Arias, and relocation services by Ana Arias.
An early morning ride to Tucurrique includes passing through beautiful valleys to arrive in one of the quaintest towns in Costa Rica. We will visit “Parrots in the Palms” and “La Joya” the jewel and experience the wide open views of Tucurrique’s valley and 1600 acre horse farm near the white water river, the Pejiballe River. Visit a construction project in La Joya and continue on a short drive down to the Pejiballe River and on to the town of Pejiballe.
Lunch will be at a typical restaurant on the drive back to Orosi. Next, we will visit the town of Cachi and properties in the Cachi area and view the lake. We will view a 400 acre property which has 8 lots of about 5 acres each and see a 200 foot waterfall from one of the lots. All of the lots have incredible views of Cachi. A visit to the local wood carver, El Sonador, for local handcrafts and art.
A visit to Diego Mora’s wooden homes above Palomo and his development will complete the touring day.
Dinner will be in Orosi at Rosa’s Pizza House.
Nightly accommodations at Rio Las Perlas or Tetey Lodge.
Day 3
7:30 A.M. Breakfast at Hotel will include architect Carlos Quesada and his engineering staff to discuss home design and construction.
After breakfast, we will take a short drive to the Sombrero River Estates. The Sombrero River is a fresh, pure, white water river out of the rainforest. This river looks like a Coors beer commercial.
On the Sombrero River, we visit a home constructed of total first quality. Discuss with the owners about their experiences in building in a foreign country and see the possibilities for luxury living.
Vistas Del Paraiso is next on the schedule. This 56.5 acre development, with 32 beautiful 1.72 acre lots has some of the best views in the valley. The property has a gradual slope, so every building site has a view. The property is value priced with all amenities available including electricity, water, telephone and Internet using a 3G connection. Lunch will be at a typical Costa Rican restaurant to savor an open air restaurant. Learn the word “casado” or a blue plate special and enjoy food the way Costa Ricans have for centuries.
See the public hot springs pools, Spanish language school, coffee processing plant and the historic colonial church in Orosi, the oldest active church in Central America.
Soup and sandwich night with you host, the Rileys.
Nightly accommodations at Rio Las Perlas or Tetey Lodge.
Day 4
After breakfast and if the tour ends on Saturday, a trip to see the local Saturday Market day in Paraiso. Fresh breads, cheeses and tons of veggies are offered at Farmers’ Market prices. The variety is astounding.
Visiting our local Wal Mart, to view shopping opportunities and the availability of products you “know and trust” will end the touring day before noon. Private van back to San Jose or other retirement tour.
